Christmas Elves

Into the Woods

A carpet of green moss is strewn with toadstools and pinecones. Tree trunks stand tall and woodland animals come out to play. Rustic colours mingle with pops of bright red and moss green in a woodland fairy tale.

I really wanted to incorporate natural features into this theme, so I added a tree branch which stands alongside the artificial Christmas tree. The smaller branches are covered in copper wire lights. Logs placed around the tree base function as podiums to display product. The base of the podium is covered in ivy and lit up by acrylic mushrooms.

As ever there are always so many products to display and my original woodland theme took on more of a wintry hue when flocked pine sprays and white owls arrived in store. I also sprayed tree branches with snow which made the perfect tree topper and roost for the owls. In store we play forest sounds around the tree like bird tweets and owl hoots which is a fun addition that the customers love.

This year we have some amazing faux floristry and I used gumnut sprays and glittered ferns alongside real pinecones and glass baubles. With the addition of birds, squirrels and reindeer there’s a lot going on but I hope the tree still displays a fairytale charm.
