At Christmas Elves one of our new themed trees is decorated in blue and white and called Moonlight Magic.
Internationally all shades of blue are trending for 2015, from the iconic Tiffany blue to the deepest petrol shades and the darkest midnight blue. It’s a sophisticated look, transform a white tree by using blue as an accent colour, royal blue is particularly striking but remember a little goes a long way.
A flocked tree is particularly effective and with the addition of white snow balls/baubles or even a white reindeer like “Blanche” you can create a winter wonderland.
Lighting can dramatically transform your tree and I’ve used electric blue icicle lights to cascade through and link three white trees. At night time this tree looks quite magical.
Postscript: It’s a reality of the job but no sooner do you finish decorating a tree you start all over again, when the product is purchased off the tree! Well that’s the point isn’t it and certainly the best indicator that you got it right.
This is exactly what happened with Moonlight Magic so here are some images of version two. This time we were sold out of snow baubles so I decided to mix large white poinsettias, flocked snowflakes and an amazing white flocked spray to good effect, I think, only time will tell.
